Change has come! Bicol International Airport pushes through under Duterte

POLITIKO - The bible of Philippine Politics.
President Rodrigo Duterte will go to Daraga, Albay Thursday, December 8 to do something that his two predecessors in Malacañang couldn’t–officially starting the construction of the Bicol International Airport (BIA).
A PNA report said that Duterte will help launch several government projects in the province, but the scheduled groundbreaking of the much-awaited BIA Thursday is probably the most special.
The BIA project–widely expected to spawn development in Region V–was delayed for over a decade after former presidents Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Benigno Aquino III failed to implement it.
The P4.8-billion construction project then gained traction following Duterte’s assumption of office June 30, as Bicolano congressmen prodded the newly-formed Department of Transportation (DOTr) to hasten construction of the international airport.
The airport will be located in Barangay Alobo, Daraga.
