Lagman tells LP in supermajority: Be quick with soul-searching

Make up your mind, fast.

This was Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman’s advice to Liberal Party (LP) politikos at the House of Representatives (HOR) Tuesday (December 6), or three days after party leader Vice President Leni Robredo was booted from the Duterte Cabinet.

“What’s important is LP is rethinking its alliance. But I ask them not to take so long in soul-searching,” Lagman said in a press conference at the House of Representatives (HOR).

“The highest ranking official of the LP was marginalized. We need to rally behind her,” Lagman said, referring to Robredo.

There are 29 LP members in the PDP-Laban led supermajority. President Rodrigo Duterte chairs PDP-Laban.

Lagman is also an LP stalwart, but he sits on the other side of the fence at the so-called “legitimate” minority bloc.

“It shouldn’t take long from them to realize the import of this move,” he added.
