San Lorenzo Ruiz, Camarines Norte now owns the longest zip line in the Bicol region.

This, after the 750-meter Matacong Zip Line was inaugurated last October 28. Heading the ceremonies were Mayor Nelson de los Santos and members of the Provincial Tourism Operations Division. (PTOD).

The Matacong Zip Line is just 90 meters short of the national record–the 840-meter dual cable zip line in Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The Camarines Norte attraction, which is intended to boost tourism in the province, is worth P250 a pop.

Maintained by the local government unit of San Lorenzo Ruiz, the zip line was constructed via the Bottom Up Budgeting (BUB) of the Department of Tourism (DOT). San Lorenzo is a fifth-class municipality.
