Leni: Sorsogon can be ‘crown jewel’ of Bicol

For Vice President Leni Robredo, the province of Sorsogon can give Albay a run for its money as the “top attraction” in the Bicol Province.

Robredo, herself a Bicolano, made this claim in her speech during the inauguration and turnover of two new classrooms at the Rizal Integrated National High School; Sorsogon City.

“Ang dami pong magagandang sites dito sa Sorsogon na hindi pa nadidiskubre,” Robredo said in video posted on Bicol Today’s Facebook account.

“Sabi ko parang over the years it has always been Albay when you think of Bicol. And maybe it’s about time to look at Sorsogon also,” the lady poltiko underscored.

Robredo noted how the governor, Robert Lee Rodrigueza, is raring to harness the province’s potential as tourist spot.

“Very passionate si Governor earlier, iniistorya mga plano para sa Sorsogon,” she said.

Donsol in Sorsogon is a known scuba diving and snorkeling haven, thanks to its whale shark and manta ray attractions; Pilar is frequented for its seaside resorts and beaches, while Bulusan attracts tourists because of its waterfalls and kayaking activities.

Robredo formerly served as Camarines Sur congresswoman.
