Water connection project must benefit Sorsoganons, Mayor Lee insists
Sorsogon City Mayor Sally Lee reiterated her stance that city folk should be able to benefit from the water line that was practically built by the province’s favorite son, Senator Chiz Escudero.
Lee gave the statement following a “fruitful” meeting with former Casiguran Mayor, now Vice Governor Ester Hamor. The two are said to be close friends.
The Escudero-funded water connection project runs from Orok in Inlagadian, Casiguran to Cabidan, Sorsogon City. It was reportedly completed two weeks ago.
Since the local government practically didn’t spend a cent on the project, Lee is requesting Orok to sell its water at a very low rate to the Sorsogon City Water District (SCWD).
During the meeting, Hamor “aired the side of Casiguran” to Mayor Lee. Also in the meeting was Casiguran Water District General Manager Engineer Ted Tejada.
Sorsogon City is a second-class component city with a population of just under 170,000.
