Papugay! Labo teachers to get P1.3M, says Mayor Ascutia

The municipal government of Labo, Camarines Norte is set to give away around P1,300,000 worth of cash to both public and private teachers next month.

Labo Mayor Joseph Ascutia said that a key part of municipality’s celebration of “Buwan ng mga Guro” (Teachers’ Month) is recognizing the efforts and sacrifices of local teachers in imparting knowledge to pupils.

As an incentive, each of the estimated 1,300 public and private teachers in the first-class municipality will receive P1,000 in cash, Ascutia said.

The money will be doled out during the scheduled “Teachers’ Night” on October 7, 2016.

The local government of Labo noted that it is the sole municipality in the entire province of Camarines Norte that gives such recognition to teachers
