Not just lip service: Sorsogon prosecutors offer manpower in drug campaign; Guv Rodrigueza acknowledges support
The prosecutors of Sorsogon are putting their money where their mouths are.
In a “manifesto” addressed to Sorsogon Governor Robert Lee Rodrigueza, local prosecutors expressed their unequivocal support and cooperation to the Duterte administration’s anti-drug drive.
“The entire manpower and resources of this Office are available for service and shall work with utmost dedication under the mandates of the Department of Justice.
“We shall work with you and the entire police force to attain the objectives of the present administration to eradicate the drug menace in our province and to preserve peace and order herein,” read the letter, which was signed by provincial prosecutor Regina Coeli Frilles-Gabito.
The fiscals vowed to be “on call” for the purpose of working hand-in-hand with the member-agencies of the Sorsogon Provincial Peace and Order Council (SPPOC) and the Sorsogon Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SPADAC).
Both councils are headed by Rodrigueza.
In response, the politiko on Sunday (September 18) thanked the Provincial Prosecutors Office (PPO) for their verbal commitment.
“Maraming salamat PPO sa suporta at patuloy na pagtutulungan ng provincial government at mga kasapi ng peace and order council laban sa bawal na droga at iba pang uri ng mga kriminalidad sa ating probinsya,” Rodrigueza wrote on his Facebook.
