Ano meron? Guv Cua files for four-day leave
Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua raised a bunch of eyebrows after filing for a four-day leave of absence.
This developed even as local officials routinely found themselves in trouble under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.
Jun Razal of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region 5 (Bicol) confirmed that the governor asked for a leave of absence from September 17 to 20.
As per the Department, Cua said he had to attend an event in China wherein he would receive a special award from his relative.
Cua was carried by the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) during the May 9 polls wherein he won reelection.
