Patama ba? Lagman calls LP politikos in Majority ‘tame stallions’

Was Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman trolling Liberal Party (LP) members in the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban)-led Majority when he compared them to domesticated animals?

Lagman had this to say about his fellow LP stalwarts even as he quelled worries from PDP-Laban that they might try to bring down President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration from the inside.

“Those members of the LP who joined the supermajority do not constitute a Trojan Horse. They may be considered a tame stallion,” he said during a press conference Tuesday, September 13.

It should be noted that Lagman isn’t part of the Majority, but that of the “Legitimate 8” Minority–self-styled fiscalizers of the administration.

LP members and its allies at the House of Representatives (HOR) used to number more than 100 in the previous 16th Congress.

However, these politikos began to jump ship en masse to Duterte’s PDP-Laban party before the start of the 17 Congress. Of the 33 solons who chose to stick it out with the “yellow” party, 28 of them joined the coalition headed by PDP-Laban.

And as far as Lagman is concerned, these lawmakers are quite harmless to Duterte.
