Dios mabalos! Albay to get lion’s share of NEDA development projects
Albay will have the first few nuggets of the “Golden Age of Infrastructure” under the Duterte administration.
This, as three big-ticket infrastructure projects amounting to P185.64 billion are now virtually the pipeline for the province.
Recommended by the National Economic Development Authority’s (NEDA) Investment Coordinating Committee for funding are the P170.7-billion North-South Railway Project (NSRP) –South Line project, P4.79-billion Bicol International Airport (BIA) and P10.15-billion Inclusive Partnership for Agricultural Competitiveness (IPAC) project.
If these get the final approval of the NEDA Board, then Albay will have benefitted from 60 percent of the P320 billion infrastructure development budget that has been set aside for the Authority.
President Rodrigo Duterte sits as NEDA Board chairman. The Board is expected to approve the projects this month.
