Two narco-politikos fall in Masbate; Police director sacked
The top two officials from a Masbate town have been arrested for alleged involvement in illegal drugs.
This was confirmed by Police Regional Office-Region 5 (PRO5) Director, Chief Supt. Ramon Melvin Buenafe. However, Buenafe did not name the two alleged narco-politikos for supposed lack of authority.
A PNA report Thursday (August 25) bared that those nabbed were a town mayor and a vice mayor. The duo was subsequently placed in jail.
The arrest of local chief executives in Masbate has apparently led to the sacking of the provincial police director, Senior Supt. Alexander Sampaga.
The same report said that Senior Supt. Jerry Biares has been installed as the new provincial police chief.
