Siksik, liglig at umaapaw: “Tok-hang Surrenderees” in Catanduanes breaches thousand mark


Per latest figures given by the the Catanduanes Provincial Police Office, the number of drug personalities who surrendered to authorities have reached has reached 1,376 individuals.

Virac, the capital town, posted the largest number of suspected illegal drug offenders with 500, while the municipality of San Andres have 183. This was followed by Baras ang Viga towns with 126 each and the towns of Caramoran and Pandan with 108 surrenderees each.

Bato leads Catanduanes towns with double digit “surrenderees” with 79, followed by San Miguel who already had 45; Gigmoto with 35; Bagamanoc has 34; and Panganiban with 32 individuals.

The mass surrender of suspected illegal drug offenders was prompted by the intensified Oplan Tokhang led by the Catanduanes Provincial Police Office last month.
