Digong’s drive digs 28 new graves in Bicol

The adminsitration’s campaign against illegal drugs in Bicol netted its most number of killed suspects in a 10-day period as 28 individuals sucummbed to bullet wounds after fighting it out with authorities.

Kiled recently by government agents were Army PFC Joel Cerdan Coderes of the PA 31st Infantry Battalion based in Juban, Sorsogon; ex-cop PO1 Fernando delos Reyes Rigo of Guinobatan, Albay; Valdemar Olaguer of Guinobatan and his live-in partner, Crisanta de Castro. Emerson Llansa Jr. of Daraga, and Gilbert Alfajaro of Guinobatan were killed when they engaged authorities in a shootout.

The campaign in Bicol resulted in the death of 28 drug suspects from July 1 to August 11, while 36,708 drug pushers and users have surrendered.

Albay figured with most casualties at 14; Camarines Sur, six; Camarines Norte, 3; Sorsogon, 3; and Camarines Sur, with two.
