Ex-LP stalwart Deogracias Ramos named chair of House committee on rural development
A former member of the Liberal Party who switched to the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) has been selected as head of the House committee on rural development.
House Majority Floor Leader Rodolfo Fariñas on Tuesday (August 2) announced the appointment as committee chair of Sorsogon Rep. Deogracias Ramos Jr.
The 84-year-old Bicolano politiko jumped ship to PDP-Laban after winning his reelection bid in the May 2016 elections.
The committee on rural development is concerned with all matters directly and principally relating to the development of rural areas and islands through policies, programs, support services and other interventions.
