Malinis! SONA rallyists from Bicol clean up before going home
Militants from Bicol who took part in a march to the Batasan for President Rodrigo Duterte’s first State of the Nation Address last Monday ended their activity on a clean note, picking up trash before heading home.
The Bicol delegates cleared the streets of their trash after the march, Bicol Today reported.
“These are the real activists who are disciplined who care for the environment,” it quoted civil libertarian Vince Casilihan as saying (http://bicoltoday.com/2016/07/26/bicol-sona-rallyists-clean-up-streets-before-going-home/).
Several thousands of delegates from various regions marched to the Batasan Complex where Duterte delivered his first SONA.
Instead of protesting, the marchers showed support for Duterte’s pro-people programs and his policy to resume formal peace talks with communist rebels.
“There was fresh air of freedom during the rally and we expressed our various stands in a more democratic manner,” said Casilihan.
