Unforgivable! VP Robredo laments fake news about her COVID response programs
Vice President Leni Robredo’s COVID-19 response programs have helped thousands of people, and she won’t let fake news spreaders deprive citizens of assistance.
In a Facebook post, Robredo said it was “unforgivable” that some people are still spreading lies even at the height of the country’s worst COVID-19 surge.
She shared screenshots of posts claiming that those who seek help through her e-Konsulta program are being asked for their precinct number, and asked for help reporting them.
Their claim is blatantly false, she said.
She noted that she has been providing this service even before the election season rolled around, and thousands of people she helped could attest to this.
The more than 1,000 volunteer doctors and more than 3,000 medical volunteers could also dispute the the false claims, she added.
So many people are suffering now, and instead of spreading falsehoods, it is better to help, she said.
“Fake News at the height of the worst surge is unforgivable.
We do not ask for precinct numbers. Anyone can try our Bayanihan e-Konsulta page. We cater to everyone. Walang pinipili. Hindi pa eleksiyon, ginagawa na namin ito. Hindi sa pagbubuhat ng bangko pero yung consistency sa serbisyo, may eleksiyon o wala, hindi naman matatawaran. Yung makakapagbigay ng resibo, yung thousands of patients na natulungan na, yung more than 1,000 volunteer doctors, and more than 3,000 non medical volunteers.
Advise lang sa naninira, baka gusto niyo nang tumulong. Grabe pangangailangan ng mga kababayan natin ngayon.
Please help us report these fake news purveyors,” Robredo posted.
