DOTr boasts port projects in Bicol

The Department of Transportation has touted the social and tourism port projects in the Bicol region under the Duterte administration.

“Immense improvements and advancements have been made in the country’s seaports across all regions, which play a key role in boosting maritime connectivity and mobility,” the department said.

The DOTr, under the leadership of Secretary Art Tugade , together with its maritime sector agency the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), proudly shared that it has completed 19 social and tourism port projects in the Bicol region.

These projects, include the rehabilitation and improvement projects at Paracle Port and Mercedes Port in Camarines Norte; Prieto Diaz Port in Sorsogon; Dimasalang Port in Masbate; and other ports at Brgy. Tinocawan, Cawayan, Pandayan, and Buhayan in Albay.

Moreover, the 19 completed seaport projects in Bicol are part of 484 projects completed by the DOTr and PPA across the archipelago, in the last five years.

“With another day less in our term of office, we remain committed to completing vital transport infrastructure, aimed to fulfill the promise of the Duterte administration – to give a more comfortable life for the Filipino people,” said the department.
