DOH logs 5 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health reported only five new COVID-19 cases in Bicol Region.

Total cases are now at 46,722 as of December 7, with 3,680 active cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

CAM SUR: 3 (60%)
1 – Nabua
1 – Naga City
1 – Pili

SORSOGON: 2 (40%)
1 – Barcelona
1 – Irosin

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

The department also logged 21 new recoveries, to push the total recoveries to 41,169.

But the DOH recorded 13 new fatalities, bringing the death toll to 1,860.

According to the department, the report does not reflect the actual date of deaths but they are based on validated reports with death certificates.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
