Sorsogon Governor Francis “Chiz” Escudero has pressed the alarm over the state of education in the country, which was exposed by the ongoing pandemic.

Escudero, who is seeking a senate comeback, said that the government should invest in internet connectivity, especially amid teh pandemic.

The governor said that around 70% of students have no gadget nor internet connectivity.

Pababayaan na lamang ba natin silang maging mangmang?” he asked.

“Even as we enter the new normal, expect that distance learning modalities will be here for some time,” he added.

Escudero said that the government should not leave the students in need behind.
