DOH reports 21 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health has logged 21 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol, pushing the region’s total caseload to 46,628.

Active cases as of November 26 are now at 4,936 representing 10.59% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

CAM SUR: 12 (57.14%)
7 – Naga City
4 – Bula
1 – Magarao

CATANDUANES: 8 (38.09%)
3 – Gigmoto
2 – Virac
1 – Caramoran
1 – San Andres
1 – Viga

SORSOGON: 1 (4.76%)
1 – Sorsogon City

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, 218 new individuals recuperated from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 39,934.

The department logged 8 new deaths, to bring the death toll to 1,750.

The DOH said that the report does not reflect the actual date of deaths but the report of deaths are based on validated reports with death certificates.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
