DOH logs 197 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health has recorded 197 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol, bringing the total cases to 42,247.

As of October 17, there are 13,248 active cases, representing 31.36% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

The DOH also logged 334 new recoveries, pushing the total recoveries to 27,715.

On the other hand, the department also registered 13 new deaths, bringing the death toll to 1,284.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
