Jose Panganiban Mayor Ariel Non looks forward to getting the power to fix a flooded national road
Jose Panganiban Mayor Ariel Non will finally be able to fix a national road that always gets flooded.
This is because local governments would get more powers and responsibilities along with additional funding, pursuant to the Mandanas ruling.
In a Facebook post, Non said he had addressed the flooding in nearly all the roads in Jose Panganiban, except along Rizal Avenue.
As a secondary national road, Rizal Avenue is under the purview of the Public Works Department and not the local government, he said.
But come 2022 when the Mandanas ruling take effect, local governments could now take over more responsibilities, including fixing flooded national roads.
He’s looking forward to exercising this new mandate!
God warrants!,” Non posted.
