DOH records 227 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health has logged 227 new COVID-19 infections in Bicol, bringing the total caseload of the region to 40,802.

Active cases as of October 11 are 13,639 or about 33.5% of the total COVID-19 cases registered in the region.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It also registered 130 new recoveries. Total number of recoveries stood at 25,910.

Meanwhile, four more patients passed away due to the dreaded disease, to push the death toll to 1,199.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
