Masbate BM Arevalo: War against misinformation starts at home, on the ground
Masbate Senior Provincial Board Member Jason Arevalo said that the battle against misinformation starts at home and at the communities.
“Do your share in the online war. But the struggle to regain our sense of right, history and nationhood begins at your doorsteps, the houses nearby, in your work stations, in the communities you live in,” the politiko said.
Arevalo stressed the importance of educating the household about abuses, impunity as well as the double standards in implementing the laws.
“Educate your household.
Arevalo said tha the trolls and the soldiers on the ground will “feed on our patience but they will feast on the people’s gullibility, desperation and ignorance.”
He also said that Disinformation and misinformation will be the tools of the “enemy.”
“Elective local government officials will gravitate towards moneyed and powerful presidential candidates to beef up their campaign chests. Their local leaders will exploit the many who are poor and hungry in exchange for their votes. This is the sad political reality on the ground; outside of the Hub,” he added.
“Ours is an uphill battle But a Nation on a downhill is reason more than enough to stand up and fight for the future we all justly deserve no matter how difficult the odds are,” he said.
