DOTr’s Tugade inspects Bicol International Airport

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade spent his Sunday visiting the Bicol International Airport.

Tugade checked the progress of the construction works for the country BIA, dubbed as the “Most Scenic Gateway.”

The DOTr said that the project was delayed for 11 years and went through three groundbreaking ceremonies prior to the current administration.

“BUT, it is only NOW, under the leadership of our strong-willed President, Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and through the determined direction set by Secretary Tugade, that it is finally turning into REALITY, moving at an accelerated pace, and ALMOST COMPLETE.,” the department said.

The airport is expected to serve a total of two million passengers every year, once completed.

“It is also envisioned to be a catalyst for economic and tourism progress, as well as a key for employment opportunities to spur in the Albay province and the Bicol region, which will greatly benefit the Bicolaños in the long run,” said the department.
