OkSi Rep. Sato’s bill seeking to protect tamaraws gets House panel approval
Occidental Mindoro Rep. Josephine Ramirez-Sato has lauded the committee approval of her priority bill seeking to protect the Tamaraws, which is endemic to the island of Mindoro.
Sato said that the House Committee on Natural Resources passed the House Bill 8299, or the “Tamaraw Conservation Management Act” which she authored.
Sato has been calling for the protection of tamaraws, as they have been tagged as “critically endangered species.”
Sato also thanked Natural Resources Committee Chair Cong. Pidi Barzaga as well as the panel members for backing the measure.
