Total COVID-19 caseload in Bicol now over 34,000

The total coronavirus disease cases in Bicol region have surged past the 34,000 mark after the Health department logged 534 new infections.

Cumulative cases as of September 22 are not at 34,053, of which 9,406 are tagged as active cases.

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, the DOH also reported 209 new recoveries to push the total to 23,058.

The department also logged three more deaths, to push the fatality count to 1,055.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH.
