DOH reports 246 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Health department has logged 246 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol, pushing the region’s total infections to 24,390.

Active cases as of August 26 are now 3,695, representing 15.15% of the total cases.

The distribution of the newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

The department also reported 117 new recoveries and four deaths.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
