DOH confirms 105 new COVID-19 cases in Bicol

The Department of Health Development-Bicol reported additional 105 coronavirus disease cases, pushing the total number of infections in the region to 23,100.

Active cases as of August 18 are now at 3,284 or 14.22% of the total cases.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

The DOH also logged 37 new recoveries, pushing the total number of recoveries to 18,946.

Two more people succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 870.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the department reminded.
