Masbate Senior Provincial Board Member Jason Arevalo has urged the public to strictly follow health protocols amid the threat of the more contagious Delta variant of COVID-19.

“Fifteen seconds is all it takes for one to be infected with this Delta variant. Fifteen seconds of wanton and carefree disregard of health protocols may spell disaster,” said Arevalo.

“We can help fight the surge. Mask up all the time when in a public place. In fact, the CDC is recommending double masking,” he said.

The local politiko also encouraged the public to avoid crowds and confined places.

“Restrain the urge to party. Wash hands constantly and maintain personal hygiene. Get vaccinated. And yes, pray to God for mercy and deliverance,” he added.

Metro Manila will once again be placed under enhanced community quarantine amid the Delta threat.

“Remember, peeps. It only takes 15 seconds of exposure and one can acquire it and turn into a vector to hundreds more. We don’t want another India here,” he said.
