VP Robredo comes back from Bicol with a lot of food
Every time Vice President Leni Robredo arrives from a trip to Bicol, her refrigerator could expect to be full.
In a Facebook post, Robredo shared the different food that she got during a visit to her home province.
Unpacking all the food is one of the best parts of returning from her trip, she said.
Among the food she got were pili, santol, frozen bicol express and frozen ginataang tabagwang from her friends and neighbors.
She also got badi and langkoy and more items from friends who know what her children like.
She savors the experience of opening all the containers, she said.
To her, it feels like opening gifts on Christmas morning.
Her friends in Bicol are like Santa to her!
“Arrived from my Bicol trip just now after an 8-hour car ride. Always one of the best parts of coming back is unpacking all the food that I brought from home.
First one I opened – pili, santol, frozen bicol express and frozen ginataang tabagwang. The santol is from my next door neighbors, Oca and Lea, who also sent a styro of fresh fish and shrimps; the tabagwang (suso na pilipit) is from our barangay captain who always sends me the best home cooked food whenever she knows I’m around; pili is from Marilou Reyta; and the Bicol Express is from longtime family friend Criselda Lee
There is more food to unpack. Among them are several packs of my favorite badi and langkoy from our dear Archbishop Rolly Tirona, who always sends food pag nababalitaan niyang I’m home. Maraming pang iba from friends na alam kung ano paborito namin ng mga bata. Inuunti unti ko ang pagbukas because it feels like opening presents on a Christmas morning.
