The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) clarified that the reported Delta case who is a Bicolano is currently working in the National Capital Region.

This came after the DOH reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 Delta Variant in the country yesterday, one of whom is from Bicol.

“The patient is a 27 year old female from Sorsogon who has neither travelled to Bicol for the last 3 years nor have been visited by someone from Bicol before getting sick,” the department said.

“Hence the patient is not a local case of the Region. Her specimen was taken at the Lung Center of the Philippines last June 25, 2021,” it added.

DOH Bicol reiterated that amid the threat of the Delta variant, the Minimum Public Health Standards remain as the best preventive measures against all mutations of the virus.

“Properly wear face mask and face shield, sanitize your hands, maintain social distancing, and avoid crowded and enclosed spaces,” said the department.
