Total COVID-19 cases in Bicol now close to 18,000

The total number of coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region is now close to 18,000 after the Health department confirmed 139 new cases.

Total COVID-19 cases rose to 17,953 as of June 30. Active cases on the other hand are now at 6,412.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

Meanwhile, there are 139 additional recoveries and 16 new fatalities.

Total number of recoveries is now 10,971 while, death toll climbed to 570.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
