Bicol’s total COVID-19 cases near 16,000 mark

The coronavirus cases in Bicol are now close to 16,000 mark after the Health department logged 195 new infections.

Total cases in the region are now 15,941 as of June 18, while active cases are now at 5,395.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

It added that releasing personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.

Meanwhile, total recoveries are now at 10,044 after 72 more patients survived the dreaded disease.

Death toll, on the other hand, climbed to 502 after seven additional patients succumbed to the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH reminded the public.
