There’s still a lesson to be learned from the debate serye, says Palawan Board Member Ryan Maminta
Though the hotly-awaited debate between the President and retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio did not push through, it doesn’t mean it didn’t teach us a thing or two.
Palawan Board Member Ryan Maminta said on Facebook that there was still a lesson to be learned from the “DebateSerye” when it comes to addressing issues in the West Philippine Sea.
It has taught us how to vanquish a bully who is prominent and powerful, he said.
It showed us that the proper response to the bully is to accept the challenge, use reason, stand by principles, do what is right, and remain calm but brave while fighting for a just cause, he said.
By doing all these, the bully will back down, he said.
It clearly works, since the bully retreated, he added.
If only the proper people will heed the lesson!
“Ang DebateSerye ay May Aral at Mensahe na Hatid Sa Isyu ng WPS:
Paano magagapi ang isang bully, sikat at makapangyarihan?
Sa pamamagitan ng PAGTANGGAP SA HAMON, KATUWIRAN, PANININDIGAN, PAGIGING TAMA, AT KALMADO NGUNIT PUNO NG TAPANG NA PAGTAYO SA IPINAGLALABANG KATUWIRAN.
Kapag ganito, aatras ang kalabang bully. Umatras nga nga ba? Umatras.
#WPSisOurs,” Maminta posted.
