Bicol logs 61 new coronavirus cases

The Bicol Region reported 61 new coronavirus disease cases on April 6, bringing the region’s total to 5,671.
The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol said that active cases are now at 677.
The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

CAM SUR: 33 (54.10%)
19 – Naga City

1 – San Andres
1 – San Miguel
1 – Virac
SORSOGON: 15 (24.59%)
4 – Sorsogon City
3 – Santa Magdalena
2 – Bulusan

1 – Barcelona
1 – Gubat
1 – Irosin

OTHERS: 1 (1.64%)
The DOH said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.
It added that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).
Meanwhile, 21 patients recovered from the disease, pushing the total number of recoveries to 4,759.
One fatality was also reported, bringing the death toll to 235.
“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” the DOH said.
