Health department reports 30 new coronavirus cases in Bicol

The Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol has logged 30 additional coronavirus disease cases in the region.

The latest figure pushed the cumulative cases in Bicol to 4,685 as of February 18.Active cases are now 533.

The distribution of newly reported cases:

ALBAY: 6 (20%)
2 – Legazpi City
1 – Tabaco City
1 – Pioduran
1 – Libon
1 – Malilipot

CAM SUR: 10 (33.33%)
3 – Magarao
2 – Iriga City
1 – Sipocot
1 – Pasacao
1 – Canaman
1 – Tigaon
1 – Cabusao

CATANDUANES: 2 (6.67%)
2 – Viga

MASBATE: 6 (20%)
3 – Masbate City
3 – Palanas

SORSOGON: 6 (20%)
2 – Sorsogon City
2 – Castilla
1 – Irosin
1 – Juban

The department said that the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

According to the DOH, releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act (R.A. 10173).

On the other hand, the DOH recorded 27 new recoveries as of yesterday. The total number of patients who survived the disease are now 3,954.

Death toll remains 198.

The DOH also reminded Bicolanos to follow health protocols in order to prevent the further spread of the disease.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the DOH/
