DOH-Bicol records 14 new COVID-19 cases; total tally now 3,693


The coronavirus disease cases in the Bicol Region have climbed to 3,693 as of January 4, the Department of Health Center for Health Development Bicol reported.

This, after the department recorded 14 new cases yesterday. Active cases are now 458.

The distribution of newly reported cases:

ALBAY: 2 (14.29%)
1 – Malilipot
1 – Legazpi City

CAM SUR: 8 (57.14%)
6 – Naga City*
1 – Minalabac*
1 – Magarao*

SORSOGON: 4 (28.57%)
1 – Irosin
1 – Matnog
1 – Sorsogon City
1 – Sta. Magdalena

The DOH said that details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, the DOH reported 49 new recoveries, pushing the total number of patients who recovered from the disease to 3,084.

Death toll due to the viral illness remains 151.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the department.

“Let us follow the BIDA Solusyon sa COVID-19 para sa Serbisyong Salud Bikolnon,” it added.
