VP Robredo launches housing project for Guinobatan residents
Vice President Leni Robredo has launched a housing project for residents of Guinobatan, Albay whose homes were damaged by the lahar flow.
“Join us as we build houses for those who lost their homes to the lahar flow in Guinobatan, Albay. Until now, they are still stuck in evacuation centers because they have nowhere to go,” said the vice president.
“We will be using part of the Kaya Natin Fund from the donations for the construction materials. We are partnering with the Bicol University College of Engineering and the United Architects of the Philippines Daraga-Cagsawa Chapter and Elliptical Chapter, and JCI Legazpi City to make sure that the design and workmanship of the houses will not be shortchanged,” she added.
Robredo also thanked Mayor Gemma and LGU Guinobatan for providing the relocation site and for taking care of the necessary preparations.
“Thank you to C.C. Buencamino Architects for designing the houses. They were also the ones who helped us with our Angat Buhay Village in Marawi and our temporary shelters for frontliners in Metro Manila,” said Robredo.
“We need warm bodies who can provide labor so that the families will have their houses by Christmas. We are scheduling an online training for volunteers next week. However, we do need to comply with Covid protocols so please check our official facebook page for announcements,” she added.
