Palawan Sanggunian wants free annual health care services for Palaweños
The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan is pushing to provide a free annual health care services for Palaweños.
“Nais ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan na magkaroon ng taunang free health care services hindi lamang dito sa lalawigan ng Palawan kundi maging sa buong bansa,” said the provincial government.
The Provincial Council passed recently resolutions on the said subject matter. First is titled Resolution No. 422-20 titled: “Requesting Honorables Franz Josef George E. Alvarez, Cyrille Abueg-Zaldivar, and Gil A. Acosta, Jr., Representative of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd District of Palawan to sponsor a bill Institutionalizing the Annual Free Health Care Services including Physical/Medical Consultation, Dental Check and Mental Health Care sponsored and funded by PhilHealth in every Province, Cities, Municipalities and Barangays nationwide.”
The other one is Resolution No. 433-20 titled: “Requesting Dr. Francisco Duque III, Secretary of Health thru Philhealth to study the possibility of conducting the Annual Free Health Care Services including Physical/Medical Consultation, Dental Check and Mental Health Care covering all Municipalities within Palawan.”
The said resolutions were authored by 1st District Board Member Cherry Pie B. Acosta while the rest of members of the SP were co-authors.
“Iyon pong pagnanais natin Mr. Chairman na magkaroon po ng community outreach program that will be done annually by PhilHealth in partnership with the barangay, LGUs and the Provincial Government ay malaki po ang maitutulong nito”, said BM Acosta.
The said service is also seen to help those who are indigent, PWDs senior citizens as well as single parents.
