COVID-19 cases in Bicol surge past 2,500

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol region have surged past the 2,500 mark as of October 28.

The Department of Health Center for Health Development-Bicol reported 47 cases yesterday bringing the total cases in Bicol to 2,511.

Active cases are now 422.

The distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

CAM SUR: 17 (36.17%)
1 – Calabanga
1 – Canaman
2 – Iriga City
2 – Magarao
1 – Milaor
1 – Nabua
9 – Naga City

MASBATE: 27 (57.45%)
25 – Masbate City
2 – Uson

SORSOGON: 3 (6.38%)
3 – Sorsogon City

The DOH Bicol said that Details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs.

Meanwhile, 50 recoveries were also reported. Total recoveries are now 1,982.

Death toll due to the disease is now 107.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” DOH Bicol said.
