COVID-19 cases in Bicol reach 2,015

The coronavirus disease cases in Bicol Region has climbed to 2,015 as of yesterday, October 7, the Department of Health Center for Health Development-Bicol reported.

The department reported 11 new cases as of Oct. 7. Active cases meanwhile stood at 348.

Distribution of newly reported cases is as follows:

ALBAY: 2 (18.18%)
– Legazpi City – 1
– Tabaco – 1

CAM SUR: 5 (45.45%)
1 – Iriga
2 – Nabua
1 – Pili
1 – Naga City

CATANDUANES: 1 (9.09%)
1 – Virac

MASBATE: 1 (9.09%)
1 – Claveria

SORSOGON: 2 (18.18%)
2 – Sorsogon City

The DOH said the details of newly reported cases are forwarded to concerned Provincial/City/Hospital Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (ESUs) and LGUs. It noted that releasing of personal information of patients is governed by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act..

Death toll due to the dreaded disease reached 82.

Meanwhile, the DOH also urged the Bicolanos to follow health protocols.

“The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus,” said the department.
