Albay gov’t, TESDA launch One Province, One Barangay program
The Albay Provincial Government of Albay and theTechnical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have joined forces as they launched the One Province, One Barangay (OPOB) program today.
The said initiative targets to achieve poverty reduction and sustainable livelihood development.
The OPOB Albay Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster likewise aims to develop self-reliant, resilient and sustainable communities through harmonized and culturally responsive development programs.
“It helps to address poverty in communist terrorist group-affected communities by implementation of skills and livelihood training programs,” the provincial government said.
This commitment to ensure united effort among government offices to address poverty issues has been sealed together with various government agencies.
The agencies include Department of Trade and Industry, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Albay Provincial Agricultural Office, Department of Interior and Local Government, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Agrarian Reform, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples and Philippine National Police.
