Palawan SP urges LGUs to reactivate Municipal Blood Council
The Palawan Sangguniang Panlalawigan has urged th local government units to reactivate their respective Municipal Blood Council.
During the Question Hour last June 30, the representative of the Philippine National Red Cross-Palawan Chapter together with Provincial Health Officer Dr. Mary Ann Navarro andProvincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Jeremias Alili faced the members of the Sanggunian.
The members focused on the supply of blood in the province.
Ms. Agnes Beronio, from the Philippine Red Cross, said that the supply of blood is inadequate in the province that’s why the bloodletting activities of concerned groups help them thrive.
“Kapag nag-donate ng dugo, mayroon itong bayad at ito ‘yung ginagamit para sa testing, storage at pag-process ng dugo…Ang PRC Palawan din ay granted na ng License to Operate as Blood Center ng DOH”, said Beronio.
Dr. Navarro proposed to reactivate or make the Municipal Blood Council be ‘functional’ again.
