CamSur Gov. Villafuerte places one barangay under lockdown
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte placed one barangay under a lockdown after two COVID-19 cases were recorded in the area.
The Department of Health Bicol announced two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Camarines Sur, identified as Bicol #129 and, his wife,Bicol #130. They are both from Barangay Quitang, Pasacao.
“With this, we are putting Barangay Quitang, Pasacao on lockdown to ensure the safety and health of its residents. Please be assured that the Provincial Government is doing everything within its capacity to contain and prevent further transmission in Camarines Sur,” said Villafuerte.
According to the governor, Bicol #129 is a truck driver who is seeking travel permit for his work. On June 29, he underwent rapid diagnostic test at Naga City where he tested positive.
“The Provincial Epidemiological Surveillance Unit, together with LGU Pasacao immediately conducted initial contact tracing upon report of Bicol #129’s positive RDT,” said Villafuertr.
“As a result, his established close contacts have already been isolated since June 29 at the LGU quarantine facility,” he added
As of now, both Bicol #129 and #130 are also isolated at the said LGU quarantine facility.
