Palawan Gov. Alvarez backs Balik Probinsya program
Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez is throwing his full support to the national government’s Balik Probinsya program.
Alvarez said that the program is timely as many Palawan residents got stranded outside the province due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The Governor also said that even those who are not residents of the province are welcome in Palawan as long as they are productive and have skills to offer.
“In fact we can accomodate maski ‘yong mga hindi taga-Palawan, basta mayroon din silang skill, maski hindi taga-Palawan, napakalapad ng lupain natin dito,” said Alvarez.
“We can accomodate a lot of people in Palawan, basta importante lang just give me one guy or one family na mayroong skill. Either, electrician siya, plumber siya, masahista siya, manikurista siya, kusinero siya, basta give me one family that has one skilled worker, kung dalawa better, kung tatlong nagtratrabaho na may separate skills for the betterment of Palawan, welcome yan”, the Governor added.
Meanwnhile, the Palawan provincial government also launched the Sagip Palaweno Assistance Program to help the Palawan residents who got stranded outside the province due to the COVID-19 lockdowns.
