CamSur Gov. Villafuerte orders preemptive evacuation as Ambo makes presence felt
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte has ordered the preventive evacuation of families most like to be affected by tropical storm Ambo.
As this morning, the eastern portion of Camarines Sur has been placed under signal number 2 as Ambo maks its presence felt.
“In an anticipation of dander posed by Tropical Storm Ambo in Bicol Region, all Local Chief Executives are hereby directed to undertake preventive evacuation of families that are likely to be affected by these hazards effective immediately upon receipt of this memo,” Villafuerte’s order read.
These include families living withing coastal areas, along river banks and lakes and those residing in low-lying and landslide prone areas.
Meanwhile, Villafuerte also remided the mayors that evacuated families should observe minimum health standards such as social distancing, temperature checking, wearing of face masks, use of alcohols, among others.
Villafuerte also required the mayors to provide pertinent reports of the conducted evacuation to the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council.
