The Commission on Elections has ordered to postpone the preparatory activities in connection with the plebiscite for the proposed division of Palawan province into three amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

The plebiscite in connection with the Republic Act No. 11259 which seeks to divide the province into Palawan del Norte, Palawan Oriental, and Palawan del Sur is slated on May 11.

The Comelec also suspended the Resolution No. 10620 which contains the calendar of activities and periods of certain prohibited acts in connection with the May 11, 2020 plebiscite.
