Villafuerte orders councilors who joined PCL convention in Pasay to undergo quarantine
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte has ordered all councilors who attended the Philippine Councilors’ League convention late last month to undergo home quarantine.
The PCL held its convention last February 28 to 29 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, which was attended by almost 17,000 councilors in the country.
“As your elected officials and public servants, we are at the forefront of all efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Public officials should always lead by example,” Villafuerte said.
“Hence, we are directing all councilors in attendance at the PCL Convention to observe mandatory home quarantine for 14 days,” added the governor
Villafuerte said that the order is part of thestrict preventive measures against local transmission of COVID-19 in Camarines Sur.
CamSur remains free from COVID-19 as of March 14.
However, latest count from the DOH showed that there are now 98 cases of the highly contagious disease in the country.
