Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez told the province’s Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to tap the P97 million preparedness fund to combat the 2019 novel coronavirus.

Alvarez ordered the PDRRMO to use the funds to intensify the precautionary measures being implemented against the dreaded virus that has so far killed more than a thousand people in China.

Gov. Alvarez recently spearheaded the Emergency Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council meeting.

Present were representatives from Ospital ng Palawan, City Health Office, Western Command, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Health, Provincial Health Office, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, among others.
